For Zay’s birthday weekend we went on a gorgeous hike to the waterfalls up the White Tank Mountains. We had a ton of fun and I was so impressed at how well the kiddos did a mile up and down the mountain, in the heat, with super short breaks. It also allowed for me and the hubby to capture some great shots of this gorgeous mountain.
I carried baby curly in our summer super light and breathable woven muslin wrap and after about half a mile daddy Tafoya carried Birdie (Avery) in the seven sling which was not so pleasant. 30 lbs of curly kiddo on one side of your body for a 2 mile hike can be challenging. It made for a great work out though.
When we finally made it to the top there wasn’t any flowing water coming down the waterfall but it was still absolutely beautiful in that little cove and so refreshing and cool. We were able to rest there for a bit and explore the falls as well as cool off and rehydrate. It was nice to be in such a cool climate in the heart of the heat of Arizona.
After the hike we had a beautiful picnic packed but decided to head home and get our curlies dressed in their swimsuits and head over to our local splash pad. We had our picnic there at the park while the kiddos, cooled off and had a good time.
Even baby curly got in on some of the water fun. This was her first time playing in water. She was adorable =)
The curlies even coaxed daddy into the water for some splash pad fun.
Until Next time
